It seems like each region of the US has their urban legends/folklore, i.e. Oregon's Sasquatch, New Jersey's Jersey Devil, and West Virginia's Mothman. Instead of some mythical creature or beast of the Great Salt Lake, Utah has green jello and carrots/cottage cheese/peas in a jello mold. I don't know anyone who eats it, but everyone knows someone, who knows someone, whose great uncle twice removed eats green jello and carrots/cottage cheese/peas in a festive jello mold, for every meal... and they've seen it with their very own eyes.
Today, I'm tackling a less offensive regional dish. This one is actually quite delicious. In fact, it's so well known in Utah culture that during the 2002 Olympics, there was a pin for it.
